Hunger Games Mary-Sue Tutorial

Ok, so in this short tutorial, I will instruct you how to alter your Hunger Games Mary-Sue type character into something less annoying. What is a Mary-Sue you may ask? They are characters that are absolutely perfect, and have no weaknesses and therefore, cannot exist. The term Mary-Sue usually pertains to females, and the term Gary-Stu is used when describing a male character.
Let's start with a simple character profile of a typical Mary-Sue. From this point we can make edits to her character.
NOTE- If you are comparing this with a character of yours in order to make edits, please format it in the style I use for my character forms, do you can make edits easier

Name- Gloriana Obsidian Shadowshine
Age- 15
Gender- Female
District- 1 (Luxury Goods)
Skin- Beautiful, porcelain white
Hair- Dazzling honey-blonde
Eyes- Left eye is electric blue, while the right eye is a deep, rich purple
Height- 6'
Weapon of choice- sword, bow and arrows, mace, bombs, mines, spear
Advantages in the Games- amazingly fast runner, superb swimmer, can climb trees, can survive without food or water for a week, amazingly skillful at weaponry, cunning, crafty
Disadvantages in the Games- None
Intelligence- IQ of 190
Body Type- very slim figure, hourglass shape
Personality- smart, funny, kind, romantic, caring, vicious in battle, friendly, good friend, helpful, sweet, and fair
Romance- All of the boys want her. And when I say all, I mean ALL. She is so beautiful, anyone who looks at her falls in love immediately. Currently dating the most popular boy in District 1.
Past Life- Mother and Father both died in a tragic accident, takes care of her younger sister (Bluebell) all by herself because she is so grown up, has scars for fighting that do not detract from her beauty
How was he/she chosen for the Games- Volunteered for her younger sister (because she's that caring)
Did he/she win?- Of course! Gloriana wins at everything!

Now, let's compare "Gloriana" to my Hunger Games OC. I will make comments about how this example is not a Mary-Sue throughout the identification.

Name- Fluster Sorenson (Fairly normal name for the Hunger Games world)
Age- 13 (Not "15" or "16", which is the age almost everybody uses for their Hunger Games OCs. Try not to make a character that age. It makes her fairly stereotypical and boring.)
Gender- Female
District- 3 (Not from a career district. It fine if you character is, but make her personality ironic or surprising)
Skin- pinkish-white (pale, but no too pale)
Hair- dirty blonde (notice I didn't use describing words. Normal people do not have "sparkling" or "dazzling" hair, especially if they live in the 12 districts of Panem. We are trying to humanize these characters, not make them farfetched)
Eyes- brown (A common theme with Hunger Games OCs is unusual eyes, like two of different colors or just odd shades in general)
Height- 5'5" (normal height; not petite or supermodel tall)
Weapon of choice- land mines, explosives (try narrowing down her skills to one field of weaponry, or even just one weapon)
Advantages in the Games- intelligence can climb, camouflage (only a few advantages are realistic; don't go over 5)
Disadvantages in the Games- can't run that well, bad swimmer, useless at hand to hand combat (try making characters that have at least more than one disadvantage)
Intelligence- IQ of 147 (It is OK for her IQ to be this high; she's not extremely beautiful or skillful at everything. Feel free to "splurge" on one category)
Body Type- athletic, but slightly pudgy (normal body)
Personality- cunning, sarcastic, devoted to family, anti-social (don't have too many good qualities. Remember, everyone has both good and bad points)
Romance- none
Past Life- Lives with both mother, father, and brother Gunther in a small, broken down house in District 3. Her father is a firearms developer for the government, but feels internal conflict after Fluster is selected for the games (See? Your character doesn't have to have a tragic life to be interesting?)
How he/she was chosen- The usual boy/girl name drawing scenario
Did he/she win?- No, she was the 7th last to die (killed by career pack when searching for food)
